The students enjoyed traditional Japanese customs by drawing omikuji (fortune slips), purchasing omamori (protective charms), and visiting the shrine to pray. They were able to experience and enjoy long-standing Japanese traditions.
The year 2026 is the Year of the Horse (Uma) in the Japanese zodiac.
The horse has long been known as a symbol of ‘vitality,’ ‘success,’ and ‘good fortune in competition.’
Furthermore, 2026 is a special year called Hinoe-Uma, which comes only once every 60 years.
It is said that when ‘Hinoe,’ which represents the element of fire, combines with ‘Uma,’ symbolizing action and energy, passion and momentum increase, making it a year filled with powerful, sun-like energy.
From tomorrow onward, let’s all put even more effort into studying Japanese than last year and challenge ourselves to try new things!
