Hatsumoude , Pounding mochi 【January 10th,2023】

Hatsumoude

Hatsumoude is the first shine visit of the year.

Today is the first school day of this year, so we went to Sugahara shine which is located to near the school. During Hatsumoude, people make prayers and wishes for a very good year. We hope their hope come true.

Pounding mochi

We pounded steamed rice to make rice cake.

It has a very chewy texture when you bite into it! We ate it with sweetened soybean powder, red bean paste, sugar-soy sauce, and grated radish.
